Summer Beauty Wishlist

Sol de Janeiro, Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, £18– For a peachy bum on the beach this summer you need this cream. It’s enhanced with guarana, a native Amazonian plant that is one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet – perfect for stimulating circulation and keeping posteriors at their smoothest.

Mio, Body Brush, £14.50 – For anyone with cellulite or jiggly bits that they would like a little smoother and firmer this product is perfect. I have been using this body brush for a month now and have notice my skin feels smoother and firmer. I also find the process of brushing itself quite therapeutic!

OUAI, Rose Hair and Body Oil, £25– Though it seems to be selling out everywhere I really want to get my hands on this product. I have yet to try any products from the OUAI range (fun fact Ouai translates roughly to YASS in french) but I love Jen Atkins styling and the brands aesthetic.

My top insta fashion accounts

Ones I have been following for a long time so you know there’s consistency too! These are my favourite for if I’m struggling with outfits or ideas and I need a quick glance over someones page for some ideas/inspiration.

Freja Wewer- Super cool, she’s got the blonde hair I dream of having and a great mix of clothing from high and low priced stores so great to get some outfit steals.

V.ri0t- Great mix of imagery with plenty of throwback pics, all embracing the female form. Saturday night vibes.

Yan Yan Chan- Really easy, simple dressing but given little twists or quirks that make it perfect for taking ideas from as you’ll more than likely have something similar. I also love her own styling work and projects with other brands.

Naomi Shimada- Just fucking fun. Seems completely happy in her own skin, dresses for herself and she keeps it bright and groovy. A breath of fresh air, I love it.

Veneda Budny- Sort of similar to Freja in style, but is perhaps slightly more street. She has great taste in music as well as clothes. She’s almost too cool.

Camille Rowe-Bel- Babe. LA, jeans and t-shirt, say no more.

Soki Mak- Creative Director & Stylist at Paper Magazine. She takes a look alllllll the way. Her accounts fun, creative and has a sense of humour which makes it not at all pretentious.

Garden Party Dressing

This weekend I’m going to a garden party- bring on the Aperol Spritz- and so I thought I would do an edit of my favourite pieces available at the moment for a summer party or event. Hope it provides some inspiration, for me if no one else!

Stay in Pjs all day… but really.

I am obsessed with Yolke’s pyjama sets, they are slumber party perfection and more than that they are so easy to sneak into every day and look stylish. I have four pieces from the brand, one of which is in the stages of delivery -internal girly squeals-. All the prints are really pretty and vary from more traditional stripes to bright florals, some more prime for being daywear than others. I think the absolute best thing has to be the fabric. I purchased my first trousers and shorts from the brand nearly 4 years ago now and they are still in fab condition. The fabrics stretch means they retain their original shape and don’t crease when worn, whilst still having all the beauty of silk nightwear. Below are a few of my favourite styles, the deco palm is the trousers I have on order, and all the shopping links are below.

Brand Discovery: Double Trouble Gang

I am loving these really simple but playful embroidered tees and sweatshirts. The partner in crime jumper was from one of my friends for my birthday and I love it. Besides reminding me of my bestie, it’s super cosy and warm. You can also choose your own words to have embroidered which is really cute and could make a great gift. The brand’s Instagram is definitely worth a follow with loads of throwback pics from your fave sitcom besties from Sex and the City to Rachel and Monica in friends.

Inspired by Yan Yan Chan’s recent Instagram story where she visited a class partaking in mixed material collaging, I thought I’d give it a go and heres one example. I so miss being more physically creative, not just on my laptop and taking photographs so I’m going to try to do similar projects more often.

The staples in my make up bag

The LB cream, The Base by Lara Bingle- I started using this brands products a few years ago and have been reordering ever since. The LB cream is my everyday staple as it gives a really light coverage that gives your skin a really fresh dewy finish. It feels more like a tinted moisturiser than a foundation, I’m not a fan of heavy products so it works great for me all day and going out in the evening too. It has SPF 15 protection which is always a plus!

Mac Pro Longer Concealer- This is the bomb. For both under eyes and blemishes its amazing. Due to wearing a very light base I need my concealer to do most of my covering work. It’s liquid formula is very heavily pigmented but also very easily blended. A tiny bit goes a long way.

Kevyn Aucoin Sculting Powder- I have been using this for 4 years now, and it works miracles. This is one of those products that quickly becomes a staple part of your make up routine. The reason I really love this product is it’s simplicity, it doesn’t contain any shimmer or glitter, nor does it have the orange tint many other products do. It helps add definition to your facial features but without an overwhelmingly contoured look. It retails at £35 and the wonderful thing is you only need a small amount of your brush to make a huge difference so it lasts forever.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam- I have always avoided blushes because I have a natural tendency to go a bit rosie, especially when drinking alcohol, but I have to say I love the effect of this product. The peachy tone doesn’t make me look flushed but healthy and warm like you do on holiday.

No7 Eyelash curlers- Most days I don’t wear mascara so a quick going over with these curlers is enough to open up my eyes.

Glossier Boy Brow- A swoop over with this helps to really define the shape of my brows and catch those lighter hairs so they look bolder. I like my make up to be quick to do, I haven’t the time/effort for contoured brows, so this perfect for me to get that natural full brow look.

Blistex- When it was -10 degrees on a holiday in Stockholm this was being passed between me and my friends like a precious treasure, it being the only lip product to save our lips. It’s since been my go to every time. If I’m going to wear lipstick, I always dab on this at the start of my make up so that its nicely absorbed to apply my lipstick at the end.
